Which Roman shade should you choose?
Cordless Roman shades
Choose cordless Roman shades in standard sizes for simple manual operation with no hanging lift cord. This is a practical choice for bedrooms, living rooms and other spaces where you want a clean appearance without charging or pairing a motor.
Motorized Roman shades
Choose motorized Roman shades in standard sizes for rechargeable powered operation and remote control. A compatible smart gateway is optional and is required for app control, schedules and supported voice-assistant features.
Custom-size Roman shades
Choose custom-size Roman shades when a listed standard size does not fit. Enter the exact width and height in inches, select Inside Mount or Outside Mount, then choose Cordless or add the motorized upgrade.
Custom pricing explained
Custom Roman shades start at $11.99 per square foot, with a six-square-foot minimum. The calculator converts width × height from square inches to square feet and rounds the billable area to the nearest whole square foot; 0.5 rounds up. The motorized upgrade adds $150 per shade.
Example: A 48 × 30 inch shade equals 10 square feet, so the cordless shade price is 10 × $11.99. Selecting Motorized adds $150 to that shade.
Light control and fabric colors
This Roman shade uses a linen-texture light-filtering fabric. It softens daylight and adds privacy, but it is not described as a full blackout fabric. Choose White for the brightest look, Light Gray for a neutral tone or Dark Gray for stronger visual contrast.
Inside mount or outside mount?
- Inside Mount: installs within the window recess for a built-in appearance. Measure the opening carefully and verify that there is enough mounting depth.
- Outside Mount: installs on the wall or trim and can provide broader coverage around the opening.
