Quick answer: Treat every unique width-and-height combination as its own custom shade configuration. Enter the measurements, mount type, color and control option, then add that configured shade to the cart and verify its line-item details. If another window has different measurements, return to the product page and configure it separately.
Start with a window schedule
Before shopping, give every window a simple name such as “Primary Bedroom Left,” “Primary Bedroom Right” or “Office Desk Window.” Record the finished width, finished height and mount type for each one. A written schedule prevents measurements from being assigned to the wrong room during checkout or installation.
| Window label | Width | Height | Mount | Shade/control |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bedroom left | Record in inches | Record in inches | Inside or outside | Style and control package |
| Bedroom right | Record in inches | Record in inches | Inside or outside | Style and control package |
How to order shades with different measurements
- Open the appropriate custom-size shade product page.
- Select the color.
- Enter the finished width and height in inches.
- Choose Inside Mount or Outside Mount.
- Select Cordless or the required motor package.
- Review the estimated total and add the configured shade to the cart.
- Return to the product page and repeat for the next unique size.
In the cart, each configured line should display its width, height, mount type and control selection. Review those properties before checkout.
How to order multiple shades in the same size
First configure one shade and confirm that every option is correct. Because custom pricing can use the cart quantity to represent billable square footage, do not assume the ordinary quantity control means “number of finished shades.” Use the ordering method displayed on the custom product page, or add the same verified configuration again as a separate configured item. If the cart does not show each finished shade clearly, contact SunShieldor before paying.
This extra check protects against a common mistake: changing the billable-area quantity when the intention was to order two complete shades.
How billable square footage works
SunShieldor custom shades use finished width × finished height ÷ 144 to calculate exact square footage. The billable area follows the rounding rule shown on the product page and has a minimum charge of 8 sq. ft. per finished shade. The calculator should display the estimated product total before the item is added to the cart.
The minimum finished width is 30 cm (11.82 in). Current custom pricing and motor-package charges are shown on each product page so the cart can reflect the latest options.
Do not combine measurements from different windows
Two windows that appear identical can differ slightly. Measure each opening independently with a steel tape measure. For an inside mount, measure the inside width at the top, middle and bottom and follow the site’s measuring instructions. For an outside mount, measure the intended coverage area rather than only the glass.
Use the illustrated custom shade measuring guide and compare inside mount vs. outside mount.
Choose the correct product family
- Roller shades: streamlined full-blackout coverage.
- Zebra shades: layered light control with full-blackout closure.
- Cellular shades: full-blackout honeycomb structure with an insulating air layer.
- Roman shades: full-blackout fabric folds and a decorative appearance.
All four families are available in cordless or eligible motorized configurations; custom availability and current options are shown on the product pages.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order two identical custom shades?
Yes. Configure the first shade carefully, then use the method shown on the product page to repeat that exact configuration. Do not change a cart quantity that represents billable area.
Should I place different sizes in one order?
Yes. Each size can be a separate configured cart line. Review the line-item measurements and options individually before checkout.
Why is the cart quantity higher than one?
For a custom shade, quantity can represent billable square footage rather than the number of finished shades. Check the displayed width, height, billable area and total instead of interpreting that number as the number of shades.
What if I am unsure before paying?
Save your window schedule and contact SunShieldor with the measurements and intended mount type. Custom products are made to the submitted specifications, so it is best to resolve uncertainty before checkout.
